Wildlife of Florida is picturesque and consists of a variety of birds and animals. Big Cypress National Preserve-The best time to visit this Preserve is during winter, since the weather is comparatively mild and dry during this time.

However get ready to wade through shallow water on this track. Rangers walk through trails during winter and canoe trips from the Turner River to the Chokolskee Bay where you can watch alligators, ibis, egrets, purple gallinule.

Corkscrew swamp Sanctuary- gives a glimpse of Florida the way it was thousand of years ago. A variety of birds live here in their natural habitat.

Wooten’s Everglades Airboat Tours- features numerous venomous snakes, alligators, crocodiles and unusual Florida panthers.

Caribbean Gardens-This botanical garden houses some endangered spices like the gazelles, panthers, lions, rare albino tigers, alligators, kangaroo and more. Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge-This wildlife has abundant tropical vegetation some of them that here are cabbage palms, slash pine royal palms, orchids and bromeliad.

The variety of habitats depends on the seasons and climate of Florida. This wildlife was established to protect the panther and its habitation. J.N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge-this refuge is habitat to 51 species of amphibians and reptiles, 238 bird species and 32 species of mammals. This wildlife of Florida has benefited endangered species like the bald eagle, indigo snake, American alligator, bald eagle, falcon, wood stork and Indian manatee.

Pine Island National Wildlife Refuge-this consists of dense black and red mangroves. This wildlife was established to protect thousands of egrets, pelican and herons which were being hunted in the early 1900’s. Sea turtles, bald eagles, manatees and wood storks are some of the endangered species which live in this wildlife refuge.

Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge-The thick dark green mangroves that cover these islands serve as perch for birds and breeding ground for fish. Approximately 200 types of fish, 189 types of birds such as the raptors, shorebirds, wading birds, diving water birds and shorebirds are found here. Mammals like the bottle-nosed dolphins, raccoon and river otter are also found in this region.


 
     
     
     


Key West National Wildlife Refuge-This is one of the oldest refuges of Florida. It was established to preserve the native birds and wildlife. This refuge houses 250 species of birds and a nesting ground for sea turtles. National key Deer Refuge national Wildlife Refuge- was mainly established to protect the deer and wildlife resources of Florida. Dry Tortugas National park-Mainly consist of salt ponds, mangrove and a few beaches. Wildlife of Florida is very fascinating.
