Adventure in Frankfurt

Ice-skiing, ice skating, boating, biking are some the adventure activities followed in Frankfurt. Frankfurt’s Eissporthalle consists of two ice rinks: 400m and 1,800m. Besides skating and ice hockey other events are organized in Frankfurt during winters. The most liked event is ice disco.

Mount Feldberg, which is at a height of 879m, the highest peak on Taunus Mountains, attracts a lot of the local population who come there on a regular basis for skiing, toboggan runs and Nordic skiing. There is also a mountain rescue service, a weather observatory and a weather station.

The maximum snow falls in the month of January but even the months of December and February are quite good for skiing. There are special bus services which operate between Frankfurt and Feldberg during these months.

The waterfront is located exactly on River Elbe which runs through the country of Germany, Former Czechoslovakia and other Eastern European countries. It a very convenient way to see the city skyline and the best way to see it would be at dusk or a little before dusk. This also could be called a sort of adventuring in Frankfurt.

Frankfurt Travel

A nice manner of visiting Germany is to take a bicycle tour along the Lhn River. This can be booked at home from the internet. A nice place to visit is Marburg which can be correctly described a gorgeous University town and is located approximately an hour from Frankfurt, by train.

The guides of course speak excellent English since they were trained to do so and it was a part of their job –they were also quite kind and helpful, considerate, patient, which ensured that the tour was more or less incident-free.

From Marzburg, one can ride for approximately, 62 kms, at a nice, comfortable pace along smooth bicycle paths to Wetzlar, occasionally stopping for a meal along the way. Wetzlar is a quaint, ancient town with beautiful cobblestone pathways and building where a fair amount of timber is used in construction.

There is also a walking tour but one needs to watch the weather since if it rains obviously it can get a little tiresome especially if one is not carrying an umbrella.
