Wildlife in Goa

This tiniest state of India has an amazing variety of wildlife. The roar of a lonely tiger, the trumpeting of an elephant at dusk, the dance of a peacock welcoming the monsoon are truly enchanting to hear and witness in the Wildlife’s of Goa.

National parks and Wildlife Reserves and sanctuaries across the state are today home to the country’s flora and fauna-thanks to the conservation efforts of the State government. There are two major wildlife sanctuaries in Goa: Mollem Wildlife Sanctuary and Cotigao.

Mollem houses the Bondla Zoo. You could put up either at Bondla or Mollem-both have accommodation offered by the Bondla and Mollem forest departments, respectively. At Mollem, there’s the Dudh Sagar waterfall.

At Cotigao too, government accommodation is available. Guided walks are offered by all sanctuaries.
