Beaches in kerala

As this city is termed as the Gods own country there are number of beaches in Kerala. Beaches in Kerala are simply superb. The coast of Kerala is ruled by the coconut palms, sandy beaches and rocky promontories. There are number of beaches which add themselves to the picturesque beauty of this state. Alappuzha Beach: This beach is a famous tourist destination. This beach is about 140 years old.

Kovalam Beach: Since 1930’s this beach is the favorite tourist hunt. This place consists of the three neighboring semi circular beaches. The most famous beach among them is the light house beach. This place also provides the visitors with the facilities of the accommodation that will suit to all the people with the different budgets.

Poovar Beach: This beach is an unexplored and unspoilt island. This place is enveloped by the tranquil backwaters and with the golden sand beach.

Shanghumugham Beach: This is a favorite place for the viewers who like to see the sunset. This beach is very close to the veli tourist village and Trivandrum airport. This beautiful beach is really like a pride among other Kerala beaches.

The Varkala Beach: This place also consist the most significant Hindu pilgrimage. The two main attraction of this place are the Nature Care Centre and Janardhana Swami temple.

Kappad Beach: This beach is termed as the historic beach because on the 27th May 1498 Vasco da Gama landed this beach with the 170 men. This beach is a rock studded beach which is also called as the Kappakadavu. This beach also consists of the temple which is termed as the temple which is 800 years old.

Ezhimala Beach: This beach lies in the district of Kannur. Here one can really enjoy by seeing the Dolphins. There is also an old tower of the great antiquity which is known as the Mount Deli Light house which is situated at a distance of approximately 50 km.
