Beaches in Toronto

Sunnyside Beach Park The another fame of this beach is with the name of Sunnyside Amusement Beach and the name of Sunnyside to the beach and its surrounding area is given to it more then 70 years prior to beach open for the public.

There is confusion that either the George Howard a prominent citizen in 1948, who built home to look after the sunny side of the hill that use this name for the time or the subsequent owner George Cheney named it.

Balmy Beach Park: The history of the Balmy Beach Park touches the history of the period of 1876, and now it is famous for summer plays major picnic spot of the Toronto.

Adam Wilson in 1876 was the owner of village situated at the forefront of Lake Ontario at that times it was a part of Victoria Park Avenue, later this part was termed as Balmy Beach Park by the landlord. Scarboro Beach Amusement Park: Harry and Mabel Dorsey owned this land in 1906 for $160,000. Dorsey dream to built the largest amusement park with many attractions for the tourists, he invested $600,000 for the purpose.

Kew Beach: Kew Beach recreational spot is surrounded with Gardens on one side and Lake Ontario on another. The Beach is featured with swimming and boating.

There are picnic areas and gardens surrounding the beaches, where visitor can enjoy summer games both on the water and outside it like sailing, rowing and paddling, and a lawn bowling club.

Kew Beach also offers cottages, boarding houses and wooded trails for the seasonal visitors. Kew Beach also offers a boat club which hosts its visitors to organize recitals, concerts, and dancing.
